some favorite pages from issue 5-
As I wait for the online preview pages for issue 6, I'll throw up some pages I liked from issue 5- I think these turned out pretty well.
I like how page 5 turned out.
Originally I had a different layout - the page had a ton of dialogue in it, all great, so I wanted to open up the page a bit to allow for the words...
I like Nightcrawler. He's a great character to draw.
She kicks Colossus through a tree. Haw.
The big introduction of two of my favorite visual creations - Drowning Sahdow and Sleeping Mist. I like all the smoke and mist swirling about her. I used that swirl-design on SK8, but upped the ante a bit. I think swirls are great!
How the heck is Ororo gonna get out of this one?!!
Probably the real life inspiration behind putting NORAD inside a mountain, instead of on a floating battleship.
I'll be sketching for charity-
I'll be sketching and signing things for the
Hero Initiative charity at
Collector's Paradise from 7pm until 10pm on December 5th, 2009. You can meet Len Wein there too! How cool is that?!!

Wolverine: First Class #21 preview.
The preview of some of the pages from Wolverine: First Class #21 - this issue is drawn by me and wraps up the series on a high note, Peter David put together a wonderful script, Jim Charalampidis did some great colorwork, letterer (and writer for the Taco Bell Cap book I drew last winter) Joe Caramagna and my hat's off to the editorial team for working extra hard!
This is the second book pencilled and inked by me out this month, and in 2 weeks (on the 9th) Uncanny X-Men: First Class #6 comes out. I've been very happy with the Uncanny issues - each issue I feel better about my artwork than the last.
Uncanny X-Men: First Class #5 preview-
Preview pages from issue 5 of Uncanny X-Men: First Class!
The X-Men have COFFEE! (Never fear, the next page is the beginning of the 15 page slug-fest!)
I just finished the first few pages of issue 7 this weekend - I can not wait to see them colored!
Character Designs for the Knights of Hykon!
Issue 5 of Uncanny X-Men: First Class comes out on the 11th - next week. Here are designs for three of the Knights of Hykon (there are more, a few of whom will be revealed in issue 5). I've had a lot of fun with these characters - they are the first I've gotten to design since I drew the issue of Marvel Adventures Spider-Man that has yet to come out. The first three Knights have appeared in the last page of issue 4, which I got to sneak in and draw on David's watch (my thanks to David) -I posted that page a few weeks ago. I'm very happy with the way issue 5 looks and I LOVE how issue 6 has turned out, the first 8 or 9 pages of issue 6 I consider the best I've ever done, (so far).
and a little teaser panel from the book, part of one of my favorite panels - I won't show you who Colossus is hitting, but he's trying awfully hard, isn't he?
I also drew the next issue of Wolverine: First Class, issue 21, which comes out 14 days after the Uncanny book. Here's a bit of a sneak of a panel in the book. Wolverine looking appropriately ...wolverine-ish.
I urge you to accidently get turkey drippings on the pages, as the book comes out the day before Thanksgiving.
Then just a short 2 weeks after that, issue 6 of Uncanny X-Men: First Class hits the stands! And I'll be on issue 7, to start the new year off with a nice bang. Whew!
