so close...

Well, it's the Friday before the election and I don't know if I can take any more.
I don't like the reminders from everyone to vote vote vote. From my perspective, everyone should either vote for my candidate or not vote at all. So, I hereby give my blessing to folks who disagree with me skip their vote - go have a beer instead!

SK8-

So, I think I'll start to post SK8 after the election, perhaps on a Monday through Friday sort of thing...

shamless tease...

Got some rather neat news that I can't share with anyone yet; perhaps in toward the end of the year. Kinda neat, though.

General Housecleaning-

It's been announced that I'm pencilling and inking the third issue of Wolverine/Power Pack. it's a lot of fun, Mark wrote a great script and I'm trying to keep the style pretty close to the GiruHiru style, since they're doing the other 3 issues of the mini and I didn't want to step on anyone's toes. We'll see if I can pull that off.

Auction pieces

Stuff I did for HERO Initiative for them to auction off- 2 different styles. I did them years apart, so I must've been going through different phases.

more from the flat files

More from the files-

Sal Amendola piece

I only own artwork that I have not worked on from two men: Russ Heath and Sal Amendola. Sal did this for me because I accomplished some sort of deadline in his class. i got to choose the character and I chose Hawkgirl. I love the inks he did on the wings - very expressive. He told me he would hunt me down and murder me if he ever saw it for sale, so I've kept it in my possession.

More with the flat files.

More stuff from the flat files - the last page of SK8. I did this in April 1999, so we're coming up on SK8's tenth birthday. I published SK8 in 2003, in a flip-book with the "Legends of the Eight Immortals," but never really did very much with him after that. This page was one of the first pages I did of him- it was supposed to be the cliffhanger at the end of issue 1, but it never got used as Matt and I changed the ending. Perhaps I should upload the book to this blog - anyone curious enough for me to do that?

Hal Jordan

I did this one more than a decade ago, as lark. I had some duoshade board that I was using on a project and I did this as a sketch. Never published, never seen by anyone but me. I didn't do any research - you'll notice that Hal's ring is one wrong hand (I think he wears it on his right, not left hand...)

Stuff I didn't even know I had-

Going through the flat files tonight, trying to tidy up the mess that is the studio I stumbled across this one - Marvel uses it for everything, whenever they need a shot of Captain America. I even saw it on a Monopoly game.

Nice Preview of FC:Legion at Newsarama-

A nice preview of FC:Legion at Newsarama- it's got some nice stuff from the beginning of the issue with Blok, the White Witch, Dawnstar, Wildfire and Rond Vidar.
I love the color done for the cover to issue 2 - it's really stellar.

from Paul Krugman's desk this week-

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Fear and negative equity … The two things we have to fear are fear itself and negative equity, and the depleted capital of financial institutions … Amongst the things we have to fear are fear itself, negative equity, and the depleted capital of financial institutions."

Tuesday breather-

Just finished the last page for the Captain America custom comic i've spent the last 3 weeks on. I'm very happy with how it came out, and hope that anyone who gets to see it at their local Taco Bell in the future will enjoy it, I worked pretty hard on it.

Issue number two of FC: Legion of 3 Worlds comes out in around 8 days, I'm exceptionally proud of how well that book came out - I've seen the color and Brian Miller and co. did an absolutely fantastic job. I don't think i've ever been on a book where there have been as many individual characters, just a cursory count puts it at well over 100, and Brian did mersmerizingly great work. I wish I could share it with everybody right now, but patience is a virtue, and good things come to those who wait.

Radiohead covering Rhinestone Cowboy

Nicked from someone I know -Radiohead covering Rhinestone Cowboy. It's nice. Kinda reminded me of when Isaac Hayes covered "By The Time I Get To Pheonix."
