3000 by 2007

Unfortunately, it looks like the number of combat U.S. Soldiers dead in Iraq will top 3,000 just around the turn of the new year, with over 100 killed in action this month alone. Well, I'm sure that the vacation time and all the dilly-dallying the President has done in the month since the release of the Iraq Study Groups findings' (in order to figure out what his "new way forward in Iraq" will be) was worth 100 + lives. Right?

Hasn't he been President for the past 4 years of this Iraq war? Shouldn't he, like, already know what the situation is over there? Why take nearly 2 months to get the gist of the problem - when he should already know? That guy takes too many vacations.

Merry Christmas everybody

With a Christmas shot of Violet - in Red!

Jeez - what else? Heroes for Hire!

Jeez - what else have I been working on lately? Well - I stumbled into inking some of an issue of Heroes for Hire pencilled by the great Al Rio - what a great artist! Beautiful pencils, a fun book over all and with the featured villians the Headmen along for the ride it's a wacky trip!

Punisher - the CELL

Also, if I'm not mistaken, a collection of Punisher one shots in hardcover comes out soon (if it hasn't already), which will possesses within it's hard covers the complete story of The Cell. A beautiful script and excellent art, i was proud to be associated with the book - it really turned out wonderfully - one of the best Frank Castle stories I've ever read (and I've read a lot of them) and illustrated sharply and expertly...

Marvel Adventures The Avengers

If I'm not mistaken, the digest sized trade of the Marvel Adventures trade paperback is out - pick it up for someone! It's kind of nice to get to ink all the big Marvel Characters in one place - Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man, Storm, Wolverine and the Marvel Adventures version of Giant-Girl (which I noticed the Ultimates borrowed from recently).

That was no ladle - that was my knife!

A nice shot of my wonderful wife, Katie.

Jet Pack New Year

Working on a new adventure for the Jet Pack Pets today - it promises to be Robo-riffic, although I can go into it any more than that. The latest episode of the Pets is out in the Winter Disney Adventures Comic Zone - it's the Hare Brain Story - Jack Flash gets ahold of a giant electronic Brain and things go ahead from there. Pick the issue up if you dare! It's also got a new Gorilla Gorilla and a few other suprises in it - in the grociery stores today!

Avengers Nextus!

Well here we are at the tail end of 2006 -
The latest issue of Avengers Next is out on the stands- issue 3. Issue 4 is due out before the year is up - take a gander if you like - it's a very happy book. I really enjoyed working on it - it felt like we could have just sailed out to sea with it for years to come - there are so many story possibilites with this little group. You can really tell that Tom DeFalco enjoys Asgard, and since Thor's been missing as a book from the Marvel roster for what seems like years now, it's the only place you gan get your fix of Norweigian Wood!

The past nine days in Iraq-

Christmas is upon us and I'd like to take a little reality check into account -
During the past nine days here is what happened in Iraq:

U.S. military killed: 27
U.S. military wounded: 400+
Cost to U.S. taxpayers: $3 billion

I'd like to remind everyone that 3 Billion dollars, laid end to end could encircle the equator of our Earth over 12 times. Why not just drop 3 Billion dollars in singles on the Iraqi warring factions?

Time Man of the YEAR!

I just found out that I've been named as Time Magazine's Man of the Year!
For those of you not familiar with the award, it's bestowed this year by possibly the laziest staff that has ever sat around an editorial table, their tiny brains working furiously to somehow top the previous award recipients George W. Bush (2004) and Hitler (193?). Throwing caution tot he wind they nominated - taaa daa - everybody!
Thanks Time Magazine for the nod! Now time for you guys to go back to beddie-bye. Rest well, Time Magazine staff - don't worry about any of those ... stories out there - just keep giving us the tree-waste you guys are famous for!
